Preschool Welcome Letter
ALAMO COUNTRY SCHOOL

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Pre-K class at Alamo Country School. 

This year we will focus on the following:

• Alphabet recognition & Phonics
• Shapes & Colors
• Number recognition and basic math
• Name recognition and birthdays
• Days of the week & Months of the year
• Writing upper and lower case letters
• Patterns and Sequencing
• Opposites & Rhyming
• Fine Motor Skills:  pencil grip, tracing, cutting
• Emotional and Social Readiness

Kindergarten assessments will be conducted in the fall and the spring.  We will be learning the “letter of the week.”  We ask that all children bring a "show’n’tell" item every Wednesday that is cohesive with that letter.  Every Thursday is book day.  These books will be read during our circle time.

The monthly calendar and other important news for our class are posted on our classroom’s red door.  Each child has an art folder that is located above the microwave.  Please check your child’s folder daily for important messages, ouch notes, and of course their work which they are always so proud of.
