Pre-School Welcome Letter
ALAMO COUNTRY SCHOOL

Dear Parents and Children,

Welcome to a brand new school year here at Alamo Country School.  I am very excited to begin a new chapter in our learning.  We have many fun learning activities planned for our school year.

Each week the children will learn a new “letter of the week.”  Our circle time, art projects, and books will all center on our letter of the week.  We will also focus on learning:
  • Colors
  • Shapes
  • Letters
  • Numbers
  • Name recognition
  • Pencil grip
  • Cutting with scissors

We will practice tracing highlighted lines and introduce worksheets to help further develop their fine motor skills for future writing.  We will continue to work on social skills this year by taking turns, sharing, and playing with our friends.

In addition to the weekly themes:

  • Every Wednesday is our “show ’n’ tell day.”  Please bring an item from home that begins with the “letter of the week.”  Children will have an opportunity to share their item in front of the class.  We ask that your child not bring any toys on any other day.
  • Every Thursday is our “book day.”  Please bring a book from home so it can be read to the class during circle time.
  • When it comes time for potty training, please let me know, so we can be on the same page.  This will help support your child during the transition.
  • Be sure to check your child’s folder and cubby daily for parent information and any of your children’s completed work that is sent home.

If you have any questions please feel free to drop by class or give me a call.  Hope you all are looking forward to the new school year!Sincerely,

Miss Liza
